HISTORY

Dental Research Center of Isfahan School of Dentistry was established with suggestions and efforts of a group of faculty members in 2003. With growing number of researches and need for a more spacious place, center’s main location was transferred to the newly constructed building number 2 in May 2011.

This research center has gone through many developments and changes since its establishment. In this short period of time, extra labs such as cellular, microbial, dental materials and fluoride reference lab have been running in this center which enabled the center to collaborate in various studies and research projects. 

The newly established department of dental research center building with clinical research section, operation ward, amphitheater and multiple labs was stablished in May 2011 with collaborations from Loma Linda University and professor Torabinejad.

This is the second research center for dental clinical studies worldwide, which is situated in a big complex with various modern day facilities and equipment for medical and dental research studies.

Torabinejad Dental Research Institute is an interdisciplinary resource dedicated to furthering research and development in dental research, which is located in the Isfahan School of Dentistry

Mission: to perform original researches, which will improve the ability to understand, recognize and treatment of dental disease.

Vision: to perform original research, which will improve the ability to understand, recognize and treat dental disease.

Torabinejad Dental Research Center was established in 2000 and moved to its new location in 2011.

Cellular, molecular, and stem cells researches, along with in-vitro studies in various field of dentistry are being done in this center.

Center’s animal Research Lab includes an animal den and operation room specifically for animal studies. A veteran and a veterinarian technician are present at the center.

Clinical studies are also available with the equipped Clinical Research unit with both choices of Sedation and General anesthesia if required.

The fully equipped Fluoride laboratory can be used for determining the concentration of fluoride ion in simple solutions such as water, organic solutions such as blood, and solid organic and inorganic substances such as food as well as assessing the concentration of fluoride ion in toothpastes and other fluoride containing hygienic materials

 Official journal of Dental Research Center “Dental Research Journal” (DRJ) publishes 6 volumes annually. Journal’s secretariat is located in Torabinejad research center.

  • The aim of Dental Research Journal (DRJ) is to keep its readers informed of research, clinical developments, clinical opinions and treatments as well as other key issues of relevance to dentistry.
  • The journal is visible in Thomson Reuters ISI Web of Knowledge and is indexed in PubMed, Scopus, Chemical Abstract Services (CAS), CINAHL, DOAJ, EMCare, EMRO, Google Scholar, Index Copernicus, Scirus (Elsevier), Iran Medex, Magiran, Microsoft's Live Academic, New Jour, ISC, and SID.

Message from the Dean

Welcome to Torabinejad Dental Research Center website. This site serves as one of the focal points for research at the Isfahan School of Dentistry and provides investigators with the information and resources necessary for conducting research.

It was my privilege and honor to become Dean of Torabinejad Dental Research Center in May 2016. My previous years as director of research program in Isfahan School of Dentistry had already imparted a deep appreciation for school’s enduring traditions of outstanding dental education, research and patient care. Today dental education and research are in a period of extraordinary transition.

As Dean, I am pleased to welcome prospective students and other website visitors including fellow researchers, policy leaders, community members, and loyal alums. We encourage imaginative inquiry and the free exchange of ideas and promote personal development, professionalism and high ethical standards. Our goal and ongoing challenge is to remain competitive and current in science and research. We constantly seek approaches to strengthen our undergraduate and graduate programs, to build the center’s research agenda, and to increase external partnerships and sponsors.

I am proud to lead the Torabinejad Dental Research Center, and hope that everyone share that pride in this remarkable institution.

We are so pleased to offer opportunities and facilities for investigators on basic and clinical research in dental science .Thus, we hope to impact and improve oral and general health locally, nationally and internationally. We are proud of providing a friendly environment for predoctoral, postdoctoral students and academic staffs for research activities in a broad spectrum of dental materials science. We also welcome relationships and partnerships industry in both the oral health and biomedical research and technology sectors. We are excited about the future opportunities for Dental Research Center and welcome your input to help us achieve our objectives.
